An Interview with Angela O'Brien, Cleobella Founder

Tell us about Cleobella.

Cleobella is the manifestation of our dreams. We traveled to Bali over 10 years ago and have been working with the same group of Balinese artisans ever since. We create leather goods, clothing, and accessories, always made with love.

What is the inspiration for your designs?

The spirit, magic, and traditions of Bali, the beautiful corners of the world we've explored, timeless vintage pieces always find their way into our inspirations as well.

The act of creating keeps us so inspired and wide eyed everywhere we travel.

Why Bali? What is one of your favorite things about Bali?

Bali oozes good vibes and is full of warm hearts and cultural beauty around every corner. We could go on and on, it's our happy place and our spiritual sanctuary.

Tell us about the person who loves Cleobella. What are a few words that describe their style and vibe?

She has a warm heart, a beaming aura that lights up any room, she is deeply compassionate and has an affinity for all things timeless and beautiful. She's also probably a mood dresser like us. xx

Tell us about you. What was your inspiration to start Cleobella?

My mother Cleobelle, the light and soul of my life. My husband's and my longing for travel propelled us to take the risk quit our day jobs, travel the world, and we are so humbled to get to live out our dreams!

What do you love most about working together as a couple?

We're always on each others side, it really is a family business.

What is your proudest accomplishment to date?

My family, my little lights, Indigo Skye and Keenan Case.

Do you have a favorite quote or mantra you live by?

"Lead with your heart."

What's your favorite type of jewelry to pair with your clothing?

Currently obsessed with layering all the gems I've found traveling. I can look at a ring and remember exactly where I was when I fell in love with it.
